World Youth Journey (WYD)
World Youth Journey (WYD) is a meeting of young people from all over the world with the Pope. It is at the same time a pilgrimage, a celebration of youth, an expression of the universal Church and a strong moment of evangelization in the world of young people. These Days are presented as an invitation to a generation determined to build a more just and united world. With a clearly Catholic identity, they are open to everyone, whether they are more or less distant from the Church.
The next edition of World Youth Day will take place in Lisbon in 2023. Let us join the crowd of young people who are preparing to participate in the Days and pray together the official prayer:
Our Lady of the Visitation,
you who rushed to the mountain to meet Elisabeth,
also bring us out to meet so many people who are waiting for us
to bring them the living Gospel:
Jesus Christ, your Son and our Lord!
We will leave with haste, without distraction or delay,
rather with diligence and joy.
We will go serenely, for he who brings Christ brings peace;
well-doing is the best well-being.
Our Lady of the Visitation,
with your inspiration, these World Youth Days
will be the mutual celebration of Christ that we carry,
as you did in the past.
May they be an opportunity for testimony and sharing,
conviviality and thanksgiving,
each looking for the other, who is still waiting.
With you, we will continue this journey of encounter,
so that our world also meets,
in fraternity, justice and peace.
Help us, Our Lady of the Visitation,
to bring Christ to all, obedient to the Father, in the love of the Spirit!
